Training Programs

Next Facilitation Training is scheduled for Oct 18-20, 2010, 5:00p.m.-9.p.m.

Our Facilitator Training will teach you all of the skills and techniques necessary to facilitate group discussions. It is hands on and interactive and you will have a chance to practice and get feedback on the skills you have learned. The facilitator’s objective is to provide directions and prompt the group in a way that encourages interaction between the group members about specific themes, ideas, or experiences.  The facilitator also focuses on promoting thoughtful discussion by prompting and guiding participants to increase their ability to reflect, observe, think, and gain new understanding. Since most people focus on content, process is often silent. Our facilitators focus on the process and make sure that it is productive and respectful, so that the group can focus on the content.

What you’ll learn in our training:

  • How to actively listen
  • How manage group dialogues
  • How to handle difficult participants & conflict
  • How to record discussion progress
  • How to create an environment of mutual respect where participants can listen to each other.
  • How to lead a group from dialogue to action.

You must attend all three sessions to receive a certificate. Training will be held at Community Mediation, 32 Elm Street, 3rd floor. The fee for the training is $300 a person. A $25 non-refundable deposit is required no later than one week prior to the first date of the training. Register now.

Conflict Resolution/Management Trainings and Workshops

Our conflict resolution/management trainings and workshops give participants skills and tools to address and manage conflict in their lives. Whether you are facing conflict in the workplace, the home or in the community, our workshops offer experiential learning with skills you can use the day you learn them.   Participants will learn to identify the root causes of conflict,  bond and connect with those you are in conflict with regardless of whether or not you like the person or not, and create the necessary dialogue to seek mutual agreements and win-win solutions.

Our conflict management workshops can be tailored to fit the outcomes and goals you would like to reach.   We can help you address the particular conflict behaviors you seek to change.

Previous participants have said:

"Fantastic Presenter/facilitator"
"Clear understandable materials I will refer back to"
"Good flow"
"I have found a new way of thinking when it comes to conflict"
"I will apply all these lessons in my staff trainings"
